Bishop’s Stortford students have been airing their concerns about idling cars. The pupils have created banners for the railings of schools in the town and across East Herts. The artworks are part of anti-idling workshops, organised as part of East Herts Council’s Breathe Clean initiative. Idling is when drivers keep their engine running after stopping for more than 30 seconds. It often occurs at school pick-up times, contributing to unnecessary pollution with fuel and money being wasted.
