A senior member of the Hamas police and his companion have been killed in a targeted attack by Israel in the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian reports said on Sunday. Their vehicle was hit in Deir al-Balah, according to Hamas sources. They said the victim was the head of the Hamas police investigation department. The Israeli army did not initially comment on the reports. Since the beginning of the Gaza war more than seven months ago, the army has repeatedly targeted and killed members of the militant Palestinian Islamist organization.
