The political left in the US have been branded “ridiculous” by commentator Lauren Chen for their attempts to “downplay” the assassination attempt on Donald Trump on Saturday. The former President was injured at his Pennsylvania campaign rally after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks shot at him from the roof of a nearby building.
