Today, OPPO announced the European launch of two new AI phones – Reno12 and Reno12 Pro – with a set of industry-leading GenAI (generative artificial intelligence) features that open up new horizons of creativity and efficiency.
These two models open a new chapter in the popular OPPO Reno series and are the first major release as part of OPPO’s commitment to accelerating the adoption of AI phones.

Reno series
Among OPPO’s diverse product portfolio, the Reno series is of particular importance to Europe. In 2019, OPPO Reno 5G became the first commercially available 5G smartphone in Europe. Over the past 5 years, an impressive 100 million Reno smartphones have been in the hands of users to enjoy the maximum capabilities of the series.
The latest generation Reno12 and Reno12 Pro models feature a futuristic Fluid Design for a stunning look and a high-strength alloy body. Both models are powered by the all-new MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy 4nm mobile platform, exclusively developed by MediaTek and OPPO to deliver exceptional power efficiency.
Accelerating the adoption of AI phones
Earlier this year, OPPO announced its commitment to making AI capabilities available to more people beyond its flagship high-end smartphones. As part of this effort, OPPO has joined Google, Microsoft, MediaTek, and other partners to accelerate the next generation of AI phones.
Photo edition
ORRO Reno12 and ORRO Reno12 Pro offer a set of breakthrough features with GenAI covering everyday use cases. With the newly updated AI Eraser, users can easily remove strangers or distracting objects in photos with a simple tap thanks to the feature’s ability to identify unwanted people and objects.
Both phones also come with two AI features specifically designed to enhance group photos. AI Clear Face gives everyone in a group shot the same star makeup by recreating high-resolution details such as facial contours, hair, and eyebrows so that even those further away from the camera are captured with exceptional clarity.
AI Best Face can automatically identify people in photos with their eyes closed and use advanced AI technology to open their eyes so that no group shot goes to waste.
For even more creative freedom, AI Magic Studio can create digital avatars or artistic portraits using just a single photo. Users can imagine themselves as cowboys, cyberpunk manga stars, or in many other styles using GenAI’s capabilities.
Other AI features
In addition to enhancing photos, Reno12 and Reno12 Pro also utilize artificial intelligence to improve efficiency and creativity.
Built on Google’s large language model, Google Gemini (LLM), AI Toolbox is a new addition to the intelligent sidebar with features such as AI Write, AI Speak, and AI Summary that uses powerful recognition capabilities to understand the content displayed on the screen and recommend AI features accordingly, such as quick content generation for social media or summaries for long articles.
In the Recording app, users can now use the new AI Recording Summary tool to automatically create short text summaries from voice recordings and organize them into notes, highlighting and formatting information such as to-do lists, time, location, and other details for better readability.
Sophisticated and reliable
The Reno12 and Reno12 Pro models feature a bold, progressive design centered around a silver space-age body. The back glass panel of both models is made using OPPO’s Fluid Ripple Texture, which creates a 3D wave visualization. This visual sensation is achieved by utilizing the parallax effect, while maintaining the mirror-smooth texture that has become the hallmark of the Reno series.
In addition to the new silver color, both models offer alternative design options. For a more classic look, the Black Brown features a rich cocoa shade with a fingerprint-resistant coating. On the Reno12 Pro, Nebula Black has a two-tone matte-gloss design with two halves separated by an elegant metal strip running horizontally down the back of the phone.
OLED display and protection
Reno12 Pro features a new display – the Infinite View Screen – the biggest display evolution in the history of the Reno series. Featuring a four-micro-bend design, it combines the aesthetics of a curved screen with the convenience of a flat screen, providing full image immersion and exceptional comfort while significantly reducing accidental touches to the curved edges of the screen.
Both the Reno12 and Reno12 Pro feature a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display capable of displaying up to 1.07 billion colors, as well as hardware-based low blue light protection. This is complemented by OPPO’s Splash Touch technology, a patented solution that allows the screen to work properly even when the screen or the user’s hands are wet.
Reno12 uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for the first time in the world to protect the screen, which offers exceptional drop protection. Reno12 Pro is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, the strongest protective glass ever to appear in the Reno series, providing ultra-flagship levels of resistance to shock, drops, bending and scratches.
With an IP65 rating, both models also offer exceptional dust and water resistance, and the most important components of the phone, including the earpieces, speakers, USB-C port, and SIM tray, have been reinforced to make the phones even more waterproof.

Equipped with a Sony LYT-600 sensor with full-pixel omni-directional autofocus and OIS, the Reno12 and Reno12 Pro’s main camera delivers fast and stable focusing for sharper images. Both models also feature a portrait mode with 2x zoom to easily capture stunning portraits with rich bokeh that are as good as those taken with professional cameras.
Reno12 Pro further enhances professional photography with a 50-megapixel telephoto-portrait camera with 2x optical zoom, as well as a new 50-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus and new AI portrait retouching effects for taking portrait-style selfies.
Both phones feature an enhanced Flash Snapshot feature that adjusts camera exposure more flexibly, allowing for more realistic lighting effects and natural skin tones in photos. 4K video at 30 frames per second is also available on both the main and front cameras, allowing you to capture stunning high-definition video at four times the resolution of 1080p video.
Global debut of Dimensity 7300-Energy platform
Reno12 and Reno12 Pro are the first phones to feature MediaTek’s customized 4nm Dimensity 7300-Energy mobile platform. Developed by MediaTek in collaboration with OPPO to deliver exceptional power efficiency, the new octa-core platform consists of four high-performance A78 cores and four efficient A55 cores. The close collaboration between OPPO and MediaTek on the Dimensity 7300-Energy has also delivered breakthroughs in system, memory, and storage performance with the latest ColorOS Trinity Engine.
Using artificial intelligence models to determine the current user scenario, the updated CPU-Vita Trinity Engine is able to accurately allocate system resources, achieving lower power consumption while ensuring system stability and smoothness.
RAM-Vita’s processor improves RAM utilization by speeding up app launch and switching between apps. It can keep active background apps running for an incredible 72 hours. Additionally, OPPO’s RAM expansion feature can be used to convert up to 12GB of storage to temporary RAM, providing even smoother performance when needed.
In addition, the updated ROM-Vita processor now performs lossless compression for rarely used applications and manages duplicate files to reduce unnecessary memory usage, resulting in more storage space for user files and faster memory read/write speeds.
Longer battery life, faster charging
Targeted optimization of the anode and cathode structure of the Reno12 and Reno12 Pro battery has resulted in the highest energy density of 5,000 mAh ever used in a Reno phone, which ensures long battery life and four years of optimal battery health.
With support for 80W OPPO SUPERVOOC TM Flash Charge in both models, this battery can be charged from 1% to 49% in just 18 minutes, and only takes 46 minutes to fully charge 100%.
Smooth, uninterrupted and stable connection
The Reno12 and Reno12 Pro models feature the latest generation of patented AI LinkBoost technology.With nine separate antennas arranged in a 360-degree surround coverage architecture, AI LinkBoost is able to improve signal reception and optimize network selection by using a system-level artificial intelligence model to quickly switch between networks based on the user’s network environment.
For the new generation of AI LinkBoost, OPPO has conducted extensive local testing and optimization in markets around the world to ensure a stable connection. This includes improved network latency in areas with weak signals or busy networks, smoother switching between WiFi and cellular, and faster signal recovery when exiting elevators or basements.
With the world’s first TÜV Rheinland High Network Performance Certificate, the Reno12 series confirms uninterrupted network performance in all tested scenarios, providing additional confidence in best-in-class connection performance.
For situations like flying, taking the subway, or hiking in the mountains where mobile network coverage is not available, OPPO introduces BeaconLink for Reno12 and Reno12 Pro.
Using proprietary communication protocols, BeaconLink amplifies Bluetooth transmissions to provide communication up to 200 meters away, allowing voice calls in emergency situations without the need to use network coverage.
Availability and price
In Ukraine, the latest premium smartphones start with the flagship OPPO Reno12 Pro. OPPO Reno12 Pro will be available starting June 18 in Nebula Black and Nebula Silver colors and at a price of 24999 UAH ($625).
