Passengers on a Eurocity train bound for Prague were left stranded in Germany’s north-eastern state of Brandenburg on Tuesday evening due to storm-damaged overhead power lines, according to German rail operator Deutsche Bahn. A Deutsche Bahn spokeswoman said that due to a fallen tree on the overhead power lines, the train had to stop at Elsterwerda, some 50 kilometres north-west of Dresden, and passengers were then transferred to buses.
