A MAN is to go on trial accused of assaulting and tormenting a woman. David Berridge appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 25. The 34-year-old, of Freeman Court, off West Street in Newbury, is accused of assaulting Amy Cox by beating her in Newbury, on June 13 last year. Mr Berridge also faces two charges of causing criminal damage to Ms Cox’s property on the same occasion, involving plant pots, ornaments and a Ring doorbell.
