The Russian Defense Ministry has been operating in women’s correctional colonies in various regions of the country over the past few months, the NRC said. During these visits, prisoners are offered one-year contracts, primarily for combat positions such as snipers or assault soldiers. Those who agree to sign the contract will undergo a two-month training program, and upon completion of the contract, they will be granted a pardon.
