Today, Xiaomi held a mega-event in China where it unveiled a slew of new products, including smartphones and wearables. With the Xiaomi MIX Flip, the brand has finally entered the folding phone segment with a folding body. In the home market, it competes with models such as Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, Vivo X Flip, OPPO Find N3 Flip, and others.

Specifications of Xiaomi Mix Flip

Starting with the key USP, Xiaomi MIX Flip features a large 4.01-inch display, which is the largest in the segment. It’s surrounded by symmetrical bezels on all sides, and the screen has a 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution, and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. To protect it from damage, Xiaomi has applied Dragon Crystal Glass on top.

The secondary cover screen also has a dedicated earpiece speaker and microphone above the top bezel, allowing users to make calls without opening the device. It supports a full-size keyboard, smart partitions, full-screen photography, and other smart features, making it both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The main internal screen of Xiaomi MIX Flip has a diagonal of 6.86 inches and the same resolution, refresh rate and peak brightness as the secondary display. The device has a side fingerprint scanner built into the power button. It weighs 192 grams and is 15.99 mm thick when folded.

On the front, the MIX Flip has a Leica-branded dual rear camera consisting of a 50-megapixel OIS primary sensor and a 50-megapixel floating telephoto lens with 2x zoom. The internal screen has a 32-megapixel selfie camera placed in a perforated notch. The device is equipped with a Master Portrait mode, as well as the ability to shoot with four focal lengths.

Under the hood, Xiaomi MIX Flip is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It has up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. A 3D vapor cooling chamber is provided for heat dissipation. The flip phone is powered by a 4,780 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. In terms of software, the device comes with Android 14 based on HyperOS out of the box.

Xiaomi MIX Flip is available in white, purple, and black colors. The clamshell starts at 5,999 yuan (~$825) for the 12GB + 256GB model, while the 12GB + 512GB model costs 6,499 yuan (~$894). The 16 GB + 1 TB model costs 7,299 Chinese yuan (~$1,004). The foldable phone will be available on July 23.
