Japan defender Hikaru Kitagawa has joined Hacken in the top tier of women’s football in Sweden after leaving INAC Kobe Leonessa, her new club announced Monday. The 27-year-old left-back started two games for Nadeshiko Japan at her first Olympics in Paris, scoring with a free-kick during a 3-1 win over Nigeria in their final group-stage match. Kitagawa, who has previously played for Urawa Reds and Albirex Niigata, is under contract with Hacken until 2026.
