Rumors of the OnePlus Watch 3 continue as the device has been spotted in the certification database of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in China. This follows previous certifications received by the smartwatch, hinting at an imminent launch.

In the MIIT list, the model number of the smartwatch is OPWW234, which coincides with the model numbers indicated in the certificates of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and TUV Rheinland. Following the naming conventions of its predecessor, OnePlus Watch 2 (model number OPWWE231), we can safely assume that the upcoming device is indeed OnePlus Watch 3.

The OnePlus Watch 3 looks to retain the round watch face with two physical buttons on the right side for user interaction. In terms of design, the device is similar to the OnePlus Watch 2, which indicates an iterative update rather than a major upgrade.

The specifications of the smartwatch are still under wraps, but here’s what we know: OnePlus Watch 3 will have a 500 mAh battery and support 10W fast charging. As for connectivity, the CMIIT certification hints at eSIM support, which allows you to use mobile communications on the go.

Previous rumors surrounding the OnePlus Watch 3 suggest that the watch will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear W5 SoC or possibly the yet-to-be-released Snapdragon W5 Gen 2.

In terms of launch, a report last month hinted that the OnePlus Watch 3 would debut alongside the OnePlus Pad 2 and other OPPO devices such as the Pad 3 and Enco X3 TWS headphones in May. However, their launch has reportedly been postponed.

With the launch postponed, we are still waiting for official information about OnePlus Watch 3. But with the MIIT certificate in hand, it seems that the presentation of the device may be just around the corner.
