Pre-tax profits declined for German steel giant Salzgitter AG in preliminary results for the first half of 2024, while it slipped into the red in the second quarter, compared to the same periods of the previous year. For the first half, the pre-tax profit was reduced to €11.5 million ($12.5 miilion) compared to €211 million, whereas for the second quarter, pre-tax loss stood at €5.7 million versus pre-tax profit of €27.3 million in the prior year.
