Agricultural exports from Kazakhstan to China are picking up after a multi-year lull due to bureaucratic haggling. The ElDala.kz outlet reported that agricultural products transported from Kazakhstan to China via rail in 2023 totaled 2.23 million tons, a marked increase from 2022’s 615,000 tons. Kazakhstan’s previous high for agro-exports to China was 1.2 million tons, set in 2019, the year before the covid pandemic hit.
