The week starts well, and with a text message from the DWP saying they’d received my application for attendance allowance for my dementia. It is a complex 28-page document, but fortunately a close friend is a former NHS occupational therapist who generously helped Sally and I to complete it. If you’ve got dementia remember, you’ve pretty much always got friends willing to help you. The attendance allowance is also important as being on a benefit is the key to pensioner credit and to getting help with council tax, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
