A 51-year-old Thaxted man is appearing in court today (Wednesday) charged with the murder of a man in the town. Essex Police was called to reports of a man in his 50s assaulted in a garden in Orchard Close at about 12.35am on Monday (March 18). A spokesperson said: “Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man died at the scene.
