Hot air masses from Africa are bringing Spain its first real heatwave of the summer. Temperatures of more than 40 degrees Celsius were measured in the Andalusian city of Seville, for example, the national weather service AEMET said on Friday. The air was similarly hot and oppressive in other cities in the Guadalquivir river valley in the south and in Zaragoza on the Ebro river in the north-east of the country.
