Xiaomi has finally announced the long-awaited Redmi K70 Ultra. This is the latest flagship phone from the budget sub-brand that offers top-notch specs and features. Yesterday, the Redmi K70 Ultra Champion Edition was unveiled, and today the base model was officially launched.
Redmi K70 Ultra: Design and display
The Chinese tech giant has introduced the Redmi K70 Ultra with high specifications and premium design. The back panel has a flat glass panel with curved edges. It has a large camera island that houses three image sensors and an LED flash module. In addition to the premium feel, you get a metal frame on the sides. Redmi boasts that the K70 Ultra is IP68 water and dust resistant. The device measures 160.38 x 75.14 x 8.39 mm and weighs 211 grams.
Meanwhile, the front features a tall 6.67-inch OLED display (developed in conjunction with TCL) with 1.5K resolution, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, 144Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, and 4000 nits peak brightness. The screen of Redmi K70 Ultra is a flat panel with a centered selfie camera hole. Xiaomi promises the industry’s best low-light eye protection thanks to 3840 Hz PWM brightness control.

Under the hood, Redmi K70 Ultra is powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimesnity 9300+ chipset, which is based on a 4nm process. Xiaomi has combined this chip with its own Pengpai T1 signal enhancement chip. This promises to deliver a 12% boost in WiFi performance, a 20% improvement in GPS performance, and a significant 58% increase in 5G WiFi signal strength.
The K70 Ultra features a Surge P2 chipset for fast charging, G1 for power management, and a D1 chip that serves as an independent display processor. The device is powered by a powerful 5,500 mAh battery that supports 120W wired fast charging. There are several memory configurations for Redmi K70 Ultra: 12 GB + 256 GB, 16 GB + 256 GB, 16 GB + 512 GB and 16 GB + 1 TB.
As for the optics, there are three image sensors on the back and a selfie camera on the front. You get a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 main sensor that works in tandem with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Meanwhile, the front-facing camera is a 20-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls. Other features include dual stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM support, NFC, and a special HyperOS shell based on Android.

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi K70 Ultra in several color variants, namely ink pen black, snow white, and ice blue. It is also available with different memory configurations, so here are the prices:
- 12GB + 256GB – 2,599 yuan (approximately $358 USD)
- 12 GB + 512 GB – 2,899 yuan (approximately $399)
- 16 GB + 512 GB – 3,199 yuan (approximately 440 USD)
- 16 GB + 1 TB – 3,599 yuan (approximately $495)
There is also a 24GB + 1TB variant that costs 3,999 yuan (approximately 550 USD), but it is for the Redmi K70 Ultra Champion Edition. This is a special version that was developed in collaboration with the luxury car manufacturer Lamborghini.
