Tokyo stocks opened higher Monday supported by Wall Street gains late last week when the Dow Jones index ended above 40,000 for the first time. In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 52.39 points, or 0.14 percent, from Friday to 38,839.77. The broader Topix index was up 11.77 points, or 0.43 percent, at 2,757.39. On the top-tier Prime Market, gainers were led by oil and coal product, mining, and nonferrous metal issues.
