Motorists are facing delays on a major route as firefighters remain at the scene after a car went up in flames. Crews were called just before 8am to reports of a vehicle alight on Canterbury Road in Charing, Ashford. Two fire engines have been sent to the incident, which is ongoing. Crews wearing breathing apparatus are using hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. The route is partially blocked and there is slow traffic as a result. The police and ambulance service have also been contacted for comment. More as we get it.
