The Greens strengthened their position on Newbury Town Council after winning a seat in the Wash Common by-election last week. There are now three Green councillors on the council, which is otherwise dominated by Liberal Democrats. Last Thursday, Graham Storey won with a landslide victory of 923 votes, 437 more than the candidate in second place, Lib Dem hopeful Emily Hayes (486 votes).
