A Fenland author, social historian and trades councillor has released a booklet with hopes of “reviving the reputation” of the first woman to become a cabinet minister. Sue Dockett, who wrote the booklet, will be the keynote speaker at the Guildhall in Chard, Somerset, on Saturday, January 25, the climax of a week of events marking the centenary of Margaret Bondfield joining Ramsay Macdonald’s 1924 Labour administration.
