Residents are being warned about the dangers of binning batteries after a fire broke out in the back of a refuse lorry. Fenland District Council have issued the warning after the bin lorry caught alight on Elliott Road in March. Crews were collecting bins when they noticed smoke coming from the back of their lorry . Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service responded quickly and assisted with extinguishing the four tonnes of materials once safely tipped.
