Tokyo stocks opened higher Tuesday as technology shares tracked gains by their U.S. counterparts, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq index finishing at a new high. In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 165.00 points, or 0.42 percent, from Monday to 39,234.68.
