A local reporter for Japan’s Kyodo News agency, Ehsan Akbari, has been arrested by the Taliban intelligence agency in Kabul, Afghanistan’s Journalist Center (AFJC) said on Sunday as it demanded his immediate and unconditional release. Akbari’s brother told the media advocacy group that the journalist was taken into custody on Wednesday and later his laptop, camera and mobile phones were seized by the intelligence officers.
