Samsung has scheduled a Galaxy Unpacked event for July 10, 2024, where it will unveil its next-generation foldable smartphones, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, as well as the Galaxy Watch 7 and the new Galaxy Buds. Samsung is rumored to have another foldable smartphone up its sleeve called the Galaxy Z Fold Slim. Tipster Ice Universe shed more light on this upcoming smartphone.
According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim will be a lighter and thinner version of the Z Fold 6 smartphone, without SPen support. This device will debut in China under the name Samsung W25. It also adds that this device will be released in October, although it does not mention whether it will be the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim or the Samsung W25.
For those who don’t know, Samsung’s W series smartphones are an exclusive series of devices for China. Samsung has partnered with China Telecom to launch these premium rebranded versions of its latest Galaxy Z series devices. Proceeds from the sale of Samsung’s W series devices are donated to charity. Last year, the brand launched the Samsung W24 and W24 Flip, essentially rebranded Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 smartphones with a luxurious look.
Coming back to the Galaxy Fold 6 Slim, the drive was previously spotted with model numbers SM-F958N and SM-W9025, going by the name “Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra”. The first of these is intended for the South Korean market, while the second refers to a Chinese model. It is unclear whether Samsung intends to release the smartphone outside of these two regions.
