Tesla is sticking to its plans to expand its 300-hectare factory site in northern Germany, despite residents of the nearby town voicing their disapproval in a non-biding vote. Residents of the town of Grünheide, outside of Berlin, were asked to weigh in on Tesla’s plans to add a freight depot, warehouses and a company kindergarten on an additional 170 hectares. Some 100 hectares of surrounding forest would have to be cleared to make room for the additions.
