An animal rescue has thanked its volunteers and community as it prepares to close its doors after more than 30 years. Suffolk and Essex Small Animal Welfare, based in Stoke Road, Leavenheath, will close to incoming animals on August 31. It said ongoing organisational problems, alongside its team members’ advancing years and health issues had placed a ‘heavy burden’ on the charity.
