Gingerbread production in Germany fell slightly last year, according to government figures released on Wednesday. At 86,800 tons in total, the volume of gingerbread produced in the country was around 1% lower than in the previous year, Germany’s Federal Statistical Office reported. Around a quarter of the gingerbread – 22,500 tons – was exported, with the largest customers in Austria, Poland and France, according to the report.
