The trial of a German paratrooper accused of murdering four people linked to his estranged wife in a violent rampage earlier this year began in the north-western town of Verden on Wednesday. The prosecution accuses the 32-year-old man of using his military experience to shoot and kill his estranged wife’s new partner, aged 30, and his mother, 55, after entering their home in Scheessel in the early hours of March 1.
