A man is to appear in court charged with robbery and assault after staff at a shop were attacked The store in Canterbury Street, Gillingham, was targeted by a man who went in and demanded money at around 6.30pm on Friday, February 2. He then reportedly threatened staff before assaulting them. Police were called and later the same day arrested a suspect. Tommy Presley, of Coopers Road, Gravesend, was charged with robbery and assault by beating. The 30-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on March 4.
