A SHOPLIFTER has been ordered to compensate a man she assaulted. Rebecca Smith appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 26. The 37-year-old, of Love Lane in Newbury, admitted assaulting Saleh Mohamed by beating him. She also admitted stealing toiletries worth £234.75 from Sainsbury’s and stealing sunglasses from Vision Express. All the offences were committed in Broad Street, Reading, on May 24 last year.
