A much-loved bakery is set to close after more than 50 years in a move described as “the end of an era”. Well-known for its freshly homemade bread, Carmichael’s in Folkestone will shut next Saturday as its owner moves into retirement. Residents have shared their memories of the Blackbull Road shop, which opened 52 years ago, following today’s announcement.
