Sir Lindsay Hoyle is facing calls to “resign” with more than 30 MPs having reportedly filed motions of “no confidence” in the Speaker of the Commons. The backlash came after Hoyle broke with Commons protocol today by selecting a Labour amendment, along with a Government amendment, to an Opposition Day motion calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
