Pakistani authorities have suspended operations of the country’s first human milk bank following a decree, or fatwa, by Muslim scholars. The Sindh Institute of Child Health and Neonatology (SICHN) decided to suspend operations of the bank, a hospital spokesperson said on Saturday. The hospital did not share details of how the project was going and how many newborns would be affected by the decision.
