Dazzling photos show Kent residents being treated to spectacular lit-up purple skies overnight. Snappers across the county were out in force taking pictures of the phenomenon. It follows a night of heavy thunderstorms and lightning across many parts of the county. Both arrived following two days of temperatures hitting close to, and beyond, 30C. The resultant moisture in the air, alongside water droplets, a setting sun, and low cloud cover played a part in creating a purple sky near coastlines.
