The series of severe storms and weather events in the United States, the Caribbean and Europe is weighing on German reinsurer Munich Re but will not jeopardize profit targets for this year, the company said on Tuesday. At €900 million ($975 million), net profit in the third quarter will be around half a billion euros lower than analysts had expected.
