A former Georgia lieutenant governor earned thunderous applause at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night as he slammed Donald Trump. Geoff Duncan joked with the crowd that while he stood behind the lectern as a “Republican” — he had to get the “hard part out of the way,” — he was at the opposing party’s convention as an American who “cares more about the future of this country than the future of Donald Trump.” Duncan’s journey, he said, began when he realized Trump would “lie, cheat and steal” to try to overturn the 2020 election.
