Thousands of people took to the streets of Brtislava on Wednesday to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the murder of Slovak investigative journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kusnirova. Protesters also demonstrated against the government of left-wing nationalist Prime Minister Robert Fico. Kuciak and Kusnirova were shot dead in their home in the village of Velka Maca in February 2018. Kuciak had been reporting on corruption involving politicians and businessmen at the time of his death.
