More than 120,000 illegal cigarettes have been seized from shops as part of a joint operation. Police officers and Home Office immigration enforcement visited 22 shops across Gravesham and Dartford to check they were keeping to licensing and immigration laws. While in the towns on March 8, they seized 6,448 packs of untaxed cigarettes, 327 pouches of tobacco and a quantity of cash. Four people were also spoken to for immigration offences.
