US Chip-maker Intel plans to produce state-of-the-art chips in the eastern German city of Magdeburg, using a manufacturing technology that until now had not even been announced. A new manufacturing technology called 14A, unveiled on Wednesday, is expected to be ready for the market in 2026. The new production method is currently being planned for the German location, Intel chief executive officer Pat Gelsinger told dpa.
