A woman has been charged following an incident which sparked a large police response at a town centre Lidl. Three police cars and a van were parked at the entrance to the supermarket in New Street, Ashford, shortly after 11.40am on Wednesday (May 15). At least eight officers were at the scene after receiving a report a woman was damaging cars near Gilbert Road. Rhiannon Thomas, of Ashley Avenue, Folkestone, has since been charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place. The 36-year-old has been bailed and is due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on May 30.
