Armed police have been spotted in a residential street – with neighbours told to stay in their homes. More than 10 officers and police dog teams are in Sheldwich Close, Ashford. Residents say the dead-end road in Stanhope has been blocked by police. The nature of the incident is currently unknown. The emergency services have been contacted for comment.
