Severn Trent have accepted responsibility for a town-centre sinkhole, and are set to begin repair works. The sinkhole opened up a Market Place, Southwell, earlier this week, and was initially cordoned off by Nottinghamshire County Council’s highways incident response team, and three-way traffic lights put in place. The road has since been closed fully, from the junction of the mini roundabout along the road to Prebend Passage, Westgate. The pavements remain open to pedestrians.
