A number of crews were called to a house fire in Roydon, which was struck by lightning yesterday – for nearly two hours. The home in Linden Grove, which was set alight by the strike, was attended to by units from Diss, Harleston, Thetford, Attleborough, Needham Market and Bungay. Also in attendance to the incident, which started at 2.30pm on Tuesday, was an aerial ladder platform from North Earlham, a water carrier from Hethersett, as well as officers from Norfolk Police.
