Irish police (Garda) said the boy was rushed from the Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre, near Limerick, western Ireland, and taken to a nearby hospital on Saturday afternoon. The boy, from the nearby parish of Clonlara, who was understood to have been attending a birthday party, was later confirmed to have died.
