Florida Rep. Greg Steube announced today that the House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, has approved his legislation, H.R. 7187, the Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act. The bill passed out of committee with a vote of 16-15. The legislation modifies the eligibility rules for amateur sports governing organizations, prohibiting any governing body recognized by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) from permitting men to participate in female sporting events.
