Part of Newbury town centre will be closed to traffic 24 hours a day throughout August. Roadworks will be taking place on Bartholomew Street, outside St Nicolas Church, from next Monday (July 29) until September 7. It means the pedestrianised zone in the town centre – from the junction with Bartholomew Street and Market Street, by the Kennet Centre car park, up to the junction with Northbrook Street and Oxford Street – will be closed.
