Political pomp filled the air as Diss Museum reopened for its new season at the weekend. Members of Palgrave Players – dressed as political heavyweights like Winston Churchill, Karl Marx and Thomas Paine – marked the occasion with a parade through the town. The Burston strike, which saw children walk out of their school building in protest at the sacking of their beloved teachers Tom and Kitty Higdon in 1914, was also depicted.
