Firefighters tackled a house blaze in Chatteris on Wednesday. A crew from the town were called to Beaufort Drive at 12.02pm along with the north roaming fire engine. They arrived to find a fire in the kitchen of a house. Wearing breathing apparatus, they extinguished the fire using a hose reel, and then cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan. The crews returned to their station by 1.45pm. The cause of the fire was accidental.
