A Digital Chat Station (DCS) insider has shared new details about the upcoming Oppo Find X8 smartphone. According to the source, the device will be equipped with a 6.5-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1.5 thousand dots and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is said to be a flat panel, which differs from the curved displays of its predecessor.

A key feature of the Find X8 is its battery, which will utilize silicon technology for greater capacity. Although DCS did not specify the exact size, it is expected to range between 5100 mAh and 5500 mAh.

The phone is also rumored to have a triple camera setup with a 3x periscope telephoto lens and a Hasselblad setup. The main camera is likely to be a 50-megapixel Sony sensor with a large 1/1.4″ size. Oppo is said to be implementing new image processing algorithms to improve camera performance.

On the software side, the Find X8 is expected to be powered by the ColorOS 15 operating system, which DCS says will offer significant improvements in terms of user experience.

In addition, previous reports suggest that the phone will be powered by MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9400 processor. The SoC is expected to have one 3.4GHz Cortex-X5 super core, three Cortex-X4 super cores, and four large Cortex-A7 series cores.

Although these cores are mostly focused on performance, the SoC is rumored to offer a 34% reduction in power consumption while maintaining the same speed and complexity, as well as an 18% increase in performance at the same power.

Earlier we reported that the Oppo Find X8 series may include three models, one more than the Find X7 series. The Find X8 and X8 Pro are expected to hit the market sometime in October, and the top-of-the-line Find X8 Ultra model will be introduced separately in Q1 2025.
