Uttlesford District Council has voted to help fund repairs at its flagship leisure centre required because of RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete). The authority was alerted to the presence of the problematic building material in part of the roof of the Lord Butler Fitness and Leisure Centre building in February 2023 – beforeRAAC hit the headlines closing schools and public buildings across the country.
